82. Giving birthday presents on time unexpectedly

This has happened twice this year, (I even had to check back to see if it was a previous reason) both were things ordered the day before and on both occasions did the person recieving the gift get told it was going to be late. Being told the present would be late was not suprising for the gift recievers, as previously mentioned (reason 63) I am hardly ever on time with presents, at the moment I have a few outstanding christmas presents and a birthday present but I will get them/ make them at some point, hopefully after these two pieces of coursework are handed it. Anyway the example this is in reference to was my Mothers birthday the other day, we have a tradition in my family when it comes to birthdays (well and christmas too really), we always open our presents in bed infront of the rest of the family in the house (basically Me, Mum and my Two Sisters ocassionally a Friend will join if they are there). This year I was very lapse and although I had known what I was getting for my Mother I didn't get round to ordering it until the day before (I'm sorry you had to find out this way Mum it doesn't mean I don't love you) and expected it to arrive with the midday post. While we were in bed and my Mother was opening her cards the doorbell rang, as she was the most dressed and energetic one of us she went to answer it. Upon getting the parcel she complained loudly that it was for me not her (thinking it was an early birthday present for me) not realising it was actually her birthday present; which I steathily wrapped downstairs before going up and presenting it to her. The look of suprise on her face made my day (could I be really cheesy now and say 'this ones for you mum').
