88. Watching children fail to grasp the concept of keep the ball on the parachute
As previously mentioned I help out at Rainbows an yesterday we had another Rainbow group join us for our session. I was decided we were going to play parachute games (if you are ignorant of this phenomena just imagine this http://www.funfit.us/images/parachute%20party.JPG but smaller and surrounded by little girls). Now the object of one of the games was to keep the ball on the parachute which requires everyone to concentrate and not give in to the urge to just shake it and make the ball fly off, considering these children age from aproximately 5-7 this was a little overambitions and I think there record was 10 seconds and they actually managed to get it over the wall on a particularly ambitious shake. The brilliant thing about it is that watching it made me think of when I used to play it and just get the urge to shake it to spice things up. It made me smile.

87. Finding out some brilliant coincidence involving ones birthday
I was just wasting time perusing the internet like usual when I stumble across something I am shocked that I have never realised before (or maybe I did and it just wasn't as exciting then) are you ready? Ellipsis please... My birthday is the 100th day of the year! Amazing... right? Think about it in 13 days (from writing this) not only will I become another year older I will also have to my name 100 reasons why I have been cheerful this year, what could be a better present to myself.
Also considering the other events to have happened on the date of my birthday are not as cheerful or as interesting:
-First copywriting law (Zzzzz)
-The Mount Tambora volcano began erupting ultimately kills 71,000 (oh dear)
-The Titanic set of on it's first voyage (and we all know how that went)
-129 people die when the submarine USS Thresher sinks at sea.
- and theres more that I haven't mentioned
It's really not too good really, so finding out that my birthday is the 100th day of the year pretty much made my day.
(If you would like to find out your own birthday trivia I found mine here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Days_of_the_year )

86. Having a choice of armrest or no armrest at the cinema
This is a privilege only available on the back row of seats in our cinema (when I suggested this was to encourage those who were going to do the dirty to stick to the back I got a look of disgust, just think about it though...). My Best Friend and I are seasoned cinema goers (we both have cinema unlimited cards) and we have our seats in the cinema however yesterday we were the first in the screen (my Best Male Friend also came along) and decided to sit where we had never sat before... on the back row (right in the middle so you have more leg room because of the entrance being underneath) and as I tend to shift my position alot when watching a film (I tend to sit quite oddly so have to move to stop dead limbs). This means I disagree with armrests sometimes, I mean yeah at times they support me in my endevers but most of the time they are just a pain in my crossed legs. Sitting on the back row gave me the freedom to do whatever I liked I could even have lain down (although I wouldn't have seen much of the film that way) and boy was it glorious. That and the goodness of the film ('The Adjustment Bureau' I would definately recommend it) really made my day.
85. Watching someone making huge whole body shadow puppets
On Saturday Me, my Best Friend, Good Friend, her Dad and Fiance went to Whitby for the 'goth weekend' (well we only went for a day but got up early and back late). While on the Dracular walk (a historical walk narrated by a man who should do audio books dressed in period dress) I glanced up at the Abbey which was lit up by huge lights and there on the side was the shadow of a Man just casually standing. After a few moments along came a Friend (I assume), his shadow slightly wolfish in posture who proceeded to attack him. After this brutal murder scene they both stood up and were hunched over with what I can only guess were fits of giggles for quite some time. It's one of the things I can imagine me and my Friends doing and it really made me smile.
84. The fact that there is a childs book from the point of view of a class hamster
I was babysitting the other day and when I started reading the chapter of the bedtime story I was to read, I began to realise it was not from the point of view of a child in class but the hamster, yes you read correctly the class hamster is the narrator of this gripping read. it seems this hamster although knowing no one can hear it seems insistant an acting like they do shouting out suggestions and answers until every now and again it mentions the fact that no one understands what it was trying to say. It got weirder when it started talking to the frog and saying it accepted it's croaks as answers, it also suggested it could help a naughty student with there problems, then the caretaker came in and started talking spanish... at this point I seriously wondered whether I had fallen asleep and this was some weird invention by my subconcious or someone had slipped me drugs at some point. However, it seems this book does exist and children enjoy it. This thought makes me smile, especially knowing there are some truely mad writers out there.
83. Being in an entire school photo
Most people complained about this, some even took the day off to avoid it but personally I think it was a once in a lifetime experience as a student in such a big school. When I'm old it will be a brilliant thing to look back on and show anyone who comes round. Also there was a HUGE stand (luckily I was on the bottom of it, I have a bit of an issue with heights) which when looking back at the sheer amount of people standing on it (one thousand and a few hundred) it just filled me with awe. It didn't hurt that I was stood next to someone who although I don't regularly see him is a great person to talk to and a good laugh, when waiting what seemed like hours while the school got organised, for the guy eventually to take 6 photo's in the space of about 5 minutes. Anyway, although I missed one of my favourite lessons it was quite fun however much people complained and personally I can't wait to scan for the ridiculas faces some people are bound to be pulling. It quite made my day.

82. Giving birthday presents on time unexpectedly
This has happened twice this year, (I even had to check back to see if it was a previous reason) both were things ordered the day before and on both occasions did the person recieving the gift get told it was going to be late. Being told the present would be late was not suprising for the gift recievers, as previously mentioned (reason 63) I am hardly ever on time with presents, at the moment I have a few outstanding christmas presents and a birthday present but I will get them/ make them at some point, hopefully after these two pieces of coursework are handed it. Anyway the example this is in reference to was my Mothers birthday the other day, we have a tradition in my family when it comes to birthdays (well and christmas too really), we always open our presents in bed infront of the rest of the family in the house (basically Me, Mum and my Two Sisters ocassionally a Friend will join if they are there). This year I was very lapse and although I had known what I was getting for my Mother I didn't get round to ordering it until the day before (I'm sorry you had to find out this way Mum it doesn't mean I don't love you) and expected it to arrive with the midday post. While we were in bed and my Mother was opening her cards the doorbell rang, as she was the most dressed and energetic one of us she went to answer it. Upon getting the parcel she complained loudly that it was for me not her (thinking it was an early birthday present for me) not realising it was actually her birthday present; which I steathily wrapped downstairs before going up and presenting it to her. The look of suprise on her face made my day (could I be really cheesy now and say 'this ones for you mum').
81. Being briefly woken with good news and properly awaking later to realise it was not a dream
I was just casually sleeping away when I recieved a text from my Best Friend (which I read while half awake) saying "I JUST PASSED MY DRIVING TEXT! xx" I excitedly replied with a sleepy "HELL YES!!!!" and drifted back off to dreamland. When I finally awoke I wondered if that really happened... I checked my phone, there it is immortalised in text, some damn good news, well done Best Friend. That news really made my day (also the fact that she drove round to my house later just because she could).
80. A clear desk
Those who know me may think this a little odd one as my desk hasn't been clear in years (literally) and so one might ponder why, if it makes me so happy have I not cleared it before now? Well the answer is sheer laziness and the only thing that prompted me to clear it now is the impending coursework deadline (well the deadline has passed the extention however has not... quite), clearing my desk is a productive way to procrastinate I also convinced myself (I didn't take much convincing) that it may help me work better. It's nice having a surface to rest my laptop on that is not my knee or my bed. Anyway that quite made my day.

79. 'The dog literally just...' texts
My Best Friend babysits for some people across the road from her and they have this dog. Now every time she babysits for them I get a new text about this dog and... well, I will let you read for yourself... Here are some of the classics:
The dog literally just...
- really freaked me out- went completely still, staring at the door and didnt move, but kept whining. Scary.
- managed to lick a patch of dog spit onto my jeans without me noticing. Eew.
- tried to jump up at the phone while I was standing on the sofa trying to text. Its on silent now -but he's looking at me
- barked at nothing again. Shat myself.
- put its face in my boobs.
I mean how much better can you get? (Well except that one time she was babysitting and I got this "Shit I think the budgie just keeled over.").
They never fail to make me laugh, the situations she gets into with this dog are brilliant and getting these texts always makes my day.

78. Watching you Best Male Friends steal the show (even from the wings)
As previously mentioned I was helping backstage at Les Miserables this week and my Best Male Friend played Javert (the 'bad' guy who at the end has a moral crisis and commits suicide). I went to see it on thursday and he was marvelous but on the last night he out did himself, me and a Good Friend of his sat in the wings watching when he died and we had tears in our eyes, it was heartwrenching, I can't even imagine how it must have been being in the audience. At the end they got a standing ovation from the entire audience (except those wheelchair bound), which is brilliant for any show, let alone a school production, the teacher who put it on gave it a 12/10 (he is a drama teacher so not that brilliant at maths [that was a joke by the way]) and he is a tough critic. The head teacher was in tears even two days after when talking about it. Watching my Best Male Friend die so brilliantly really made my day (the phrasing of that amused me greatly).
77. Unexpected Cake
If you have read my previous posts you will know about the wondrous event that is cake Friday (if you have not basically on a Friday we eat cake). This Friday everyone forgot to make cake... or so I thought, as you will guess by the title someone had remembered, someone who wasn't even supposed to be making cake (we take it in turns) and it was beautiful. Something almost better than having cake, is having it when you didn't expect it, I have to say it definately made my day.

76. When you're at a play and through the speakers comes something that shouldn't
"Well that wasn't good" the line that echoed around the hall after a screaching mic, I found out later it was a comment from one of the band members. To elaborate I went to see the show I helped backstage at on thursday, let's just say it was the worst technical night of the week (I would like to say that was because I wasn't backstage infact you don't know any better so it was because I wasn't there [one of the mistakes definately was ]) but it was a wonderful show and there was some brilliant acting it shows true talent when an actor can carry on despite all the mic errors. I was very tempted to put watching my Best Male Friend steal the show but I think I will reserve that for a later post. Anyway the technical fail did make me smile even if it did ruin the moment.

75. Watching someone fall over on stage
I was helping backstage with our school production of 'Les Miserables' and watching one of the scenes from the side I got the perfect view of a member of the cast during a man hit by a cart scene walking backwards and tripping over a step, it was brilliant. It takes me back to year 5 watching the nativity play and Angel Gabriel walking off the stage backwards (luckily it wasn't a big stage). I have to add both guys were fine so it was alright to laugh at these accidents. I know it made my day.

74. Taking chocolate to the ill (well skiving)
My Best Friend was off school the other day, it was one of those days where she woke up after not sleeping very well and had very few lessons, so she just decided not to come in, because it was more productive to stay at home. When she isn't at school I sacrifice myself to the bitter weather (well it was a little foggy) and walk for miles (well for about 15minutes) to deliver a bar of chocolate to her house. Then we sit down and have a nice chat whilst eating it. It's just one of those things that cheers me up especially after having to spend a day in school without her brilliant wit (I hope you appreciate that comment Best Friend). Sometimes I think she takes the day off just for the chocolate (I don't really think that). Anyway that little walk and chat with chocolate made my day.
73.The dress rehearsal
It's a glorious night when the cast panics backstage and realise how little time they have between scenes then get to the side of the stage 10 minutes early after rushing. I have experienced this feeling before the mass panic that you are going to be late and then having to wait around. This time however I was observing it, as I'm part of the backstage crew and it is hilareous watching everyone run around like headless chickens, actors can be so funny sometimes. Really made my day.

72. Mystery Chocolate
Most of the time you read the label or get told what type of chocolate something is but occasionally when you haven't got a label and no one informs you of what the chocolate contains you get a Mystery Chocolate "you never know what your gonna get". This baby could contain anything and the anticipation is part of the glory. You do not know if you will like this chocolate or if you will hate it or if it will be the best thing you have ever tasted. In this instance it was a good chocolate, it was a beautiful moment. I set myself up thinking it would probably be something I didn't like or wasn't that keen on and was gloriously suprised when I bit into it. Really made my day.

71. Dancing in a beautiful dress
It was my Good Friends 18th birthday the other day and to celebrate this she threw a Masquerade Ball (how brilliant?) it was a fantastic night and a perfect chance for me to wear my beautiful prom dress for the second time (the first time was at prom two years ago). My dress is beautiful (and I am allowed to say that considering it wasn't that cheap) its grey (well a white silk underneath with sheer black on top) with flowers and beads embroided on it, it doesn't have a Huge skirt but it does have a petticoat layer (you probably dont really care). Anyway she had on a playlist she had made on her ipod so there were all the classics like the macarana etc and a mix of others including things like You Give Love a Bad Name and a multitude of Nickleback songs. Dancing in a pretty dress is one of the best thing whether you are doing you basic four step, kicking it back with a Hand Jive or creating a conga line during a slow ballardy song. It is just a wonderful feeling being on the dance floor all dressed up surrounded by Friends, really made my day.

70. Adding 'except in bed' to the end of fortune cookies
Yes it may be immature, yes we should probably know better, but me and my Friends enjoy doing this immensly, prehaps a little too much. I cannot remember any of the others, but mine read 'Dreams will never come true if you never put in effort to realise it'... except in bed. Classic, really made me smile.

69. Finding poetry written about you from long ago
You are probably expecting reams of romantic verse, sadly that is not the case (the one Ex I have wasn't the type to write poetry and no admires of mine have ever tried to woo me via poem) it just a couple of amusing short poems (well one is an acrostic but still). Here goes:
An ode to Rosalind
The Rosalind bird is quite absurd
Because you never hear a word
She does eats not meat or fruit or greens
and adds more salt than ever seen
She likes her books and chocolate pud
Theres alpine thorntons in her blood
bye ros
(I don't know who that was written by it is nameless and written on a typewriter so the handwriting cannot be identified)
The other as I said before is an acrostic by someone who used to spell my name with a 'g' at the end instead of a 'd', an inside joke, he was in my old english group before he moved away, I haven't spoken to him in afew years but rediscovered this the other day:
Ravishing
Outstanding
Sexy
Awesome
Lovely
Intelligent
Nice
Greatly funny
Anyway finding these really made my day.

68. Eating starbursts somewhere in the wilderness late at night
Alright so it was not the middle of nowhere but it was away from people on a late night drive. Just the four girls chatting and eating starbursts. It's a shame there wasn't any stars out still it made me smile.

67. When a child asks for chocolate spread and lemon juice on their pancake
When you're a child you have odd cravings (even as you grow older you do I know I have eaten things most people would wrinkle their nose at and some things people have) and it so lovely to remember that. It's not only the fact that she asked for it but also that she ate it and most probably enjoyed it... a part of me knows that I would have enjoyed it too. That thought just makes me smile.
66. When you have a craving for a certain food and you find out that is whats for tea
I had a beautiful carbonara for tea, it was a magic moment I had just been thinking about how I hadn't had one in a while. Made my day.

65. The way the pavement glitters at night
I know this is a strange one but I was walking back from my Best Friends house dancing along to my music (like I always do), when I noticed the pavement glittering in the street lamps. It's a subtle glitter, like the way everything outside glitters when its frosty. Looking at it just made me really happy.
64. Having a Friend who makes you a Literary Lunchen
To explain this one I would like to refer back to reason '35. The perfect chocolate mousse' which was made by a friend of mine (I will now refer to him as my Literary Friend because of his love of literature) when he invited us round to supper. He must have enjoyed hosting it as the other day he invited me and my Best Friend round for a Literary Lunchen (we all have English Literature together) this involved a menu based on references from literature. It was also brilliantly done in chronological order of when the books were written. It was a beautiful meal he has to be one of the best cooks I know, the conversation is always brilliant too. One of the most wonderful things he did was, becuase he had read my post on how much I enjoyed the chocolate mousse, the pudding was the very same mousse (the literary reference being my blog post about it) and it was just as wonderful (if not more so) than I remember it, I left his house stuffed full with glourious food. I also left with a new book as it was for world book day, which was a lovely suprise I did not expect and I cannot wait to read it. The whole meal throughly made my day.
63. An unexpected witty gift
I am awful at giving presents on time, this is not due to lack of ideas my really trouble is my ideas require time and for me to remember to get things for them. I once gave my Good Friend a birthday present at christmas, (well a joint christmas and birthday present) her birthday is in March. I always enjoy the look of suprise when I finally give them the present (most of them don't expect presents on time now). Most of my friends get their gifts to me and others on time or a couple of weeks later, I always thought I was the only disorganised one. Which is why I was so supprised when my Best Male Friend gave me a christmas present the other day (although I don't remember not getting a present off him). It was a yellow David and Goliath T-Shirt with a toaster with one piece of bread and a piece of toast in it, along the top above the toast it reads 'I'm toasty' and in small letters next to the bread it reads 'I'm not'. A very amusing T-Shirt which makes me feel even more guilty about the lateness of my christmas present to him (I have a plan though, well I have had this plan for before christmas but I will do it soon). Anyway the T-Shirt definately made my day and it will continue to do so every time I wear it.
(Now I think about it I think he did order me a present for christmas but the site didn't tell him it was out of stock so actually it is not due to lack of organisation but it is a beautiful moment non the less)

62. Falling asleep when your head hits the pillow
I have trouble with my sleep most nights going to sleep around 2/3 in the morning (I've googled and it could be Delayed sleep-phase syndrome (DSPS) or that might be me just being a hypochondriac). As my schedual will not allow me to wake any later than 8:20 this causes me to feel sleep deprived alot of the time. Even when exausted I can be tossing and turning for hours on end this is why I love it when I lie down and the next thing I know I am awaking from an odd dream about meeting Rachel Stevens from S Club 7 and being invited round for tea (thats another story though). This occured the other day I wasn't even intending to go to sleep I had half changed into my PJ's and thought I would lie down for a moment and there you have it. I woke up briefly around 6ish noting my light had been turned off and felt quite refreshed for the rest of the day. It really cheered me up.

61. That person determined to hate everything (well most things)
This is an odd one I know as most people hate this person, but I just find it increadably amusing to watch someone get so passionate about hating something they really could have avoided. You can tell that they are loving every second because if that thing (today it was a film) wasn't there to hate it would be something else they would be ranting on about. Maybe their argument does not make sense and they tell outrageous lies to make their point (this time it was 'I didn't laugh at all during that film' until my Friend pointed out that they did and gave evidence) but at least they are enjoying themselves. If you are going to hate something at least enjoy it, revel in your discontent, it makes me smile.
60. When your Best Friend spontaneously decides she would like to come round and watch a film with you
My Best Friend occasionally forgets her i-pod and when she does she always complains about walking home with no music accompanying her, almost every time she does I say almost atomatically 'you could just come round to my house', she claims to much work most days. This time however I offered my house and a film and she came. It was wonderful (and the film was good too Easy A, if you haven't seen it I recommend it), really made my day.

59. A suprise visit by a Friend not seen in a week
I was casually attempting work in my pjamas (bear in mind it was about 3 at this point) and who walks in my bedroom door (my close Friends let themselves in the house or my mum might have), my Best Male Friend who was not their when we ate chinese. It was just really lovely to be suprised like that and it really made me smile.
58. Seeing old friends after a week away
While it was lovely to be away from everything I did miss my Friends the most. Meeting new people is all very well and good but after a week you just want to be able to relax with some of the people who already love you and eat a chinese. Made me smile.
57. Eating three jam donuts in one sitting
Alright so it may not be the healthiest of things to do and it may leave one incapacitated on the sofa for a while, but there is just something about jam donuts that makes me happy (especially three in a row).
