78. Watching you Best Male Friends steal the show (even from the wings)
As previously mentioned I was helping backstage at Les Miserables this week and my Best Male Friend played Javert (the 'bad' guy who at the end has a moral crisis and commits suicide). I went to see it on thursday and he was marvelous but on the last night he out did himself, me and a Good Friend of his sat in the wings watching when he died and we had tears in our eyes, it was heartwrenching, I can't even imagine how it must have been being in the audience. At the end they got a standing ovation from the entire audience (except those wheelchair bound), which is brilliant for any show, let alone a school production, the teacher who put it on gave it a 12/10 (he is a drama teacher so not that brilliant at maths [that was a joke by the way]) and he is a tough critic. The head teacher was in tears even two days after when talking about it. Watching my Best Male Friend die so brilliantly really made my day (the phrasing of that amused me greatly).
