118. The local in a pub
The other day I was in a pub (shocking news I know) and there was an old man (probably drunk) obviously a local who got the bartender to give him the pub guitar and came over to a small group trying to get one of us to play it. Now had one of our Musical Friends been there they would have been straight in there, he just happened to approach an odd group of teenagers of which only two people actually knew how to play a guitar, and they knew very little. Eventually one of these took the guitar and played the only few tunes he knew but the local was insistant on getting someone to play properly so when another group of teens came in (we knew them vaguely from school but they sat elsewhere) he approached one of the lads put his hand on their back and without even asking just handed them the guitar. He was a harmless old man who had nothing but good intentions even if he went the wrong way about it. When we left he told us to have a good night and it made me smile quite a bit.
