115. Getting merry at luchean
My Literary Friend strikes again. It was his birthday a couple of weeks ago and he decided to celebrate his turning 18 he would hold a series of luncheans for his different Friends. It was our turn the other day and it was wonderful. He served a salad for staters, a lamb thing (I had the word for it until I started typing) with gnocci and my Music Friend made a victoria sponge with strawberry's in the middle for desert. It was all beautiful I don't normally eat salad but the dressing was beautiful, I haven't ever had gnocci or lamb something that good before (he is going to teach my Best Friend and me to make it) and the victoria sponge I just can't describe (after writing about each course I was sorely tempted just to put Mmmmmmmmmmmm because while thinking about it all thats what I'm doing in my head). We had wine with the meal and so everyone got quite merry (not drunk I should add) and we had some really nice chats. I can't think of a time I have been that merry that early (except possibly at my Family Friends birthday party) but it was lovely and although when I got home I was fed spagetti meatballs and fell into a food coma, it was a beautiful day. Of course when merry one cannot help but smile.
