42. The bacon sandwich

Whoever first created bacon must have realised it was destined for great things. Everyone has their preferences some like it with mayo, some with lettace, others fry the bread in the bacon fat left over... there are so many different ways to enjoy the bacon sandwich, but it wouldn't be the same sandwich without the bacon. I would write a poem about it, but I could never write a poem as lovely as bacon.
There are those days (the best days) when everything to do with the sandwich goes right, the bread is the perfect thickness, the bacon done to perfection (I like mine quite crispy), the <insert own preference here and how perfect it can go(for me the melting of the butter that soaks into the bread)> and it's on those days that from the moment you take the first bite to the moment you swallow the last you have a huge smile spread across your face (well I know I do).
I had a bacon sandwich for lunch today, can you tell?... What was that?... 'How was it?' you say? Well it certainly made my day (... at least I amuse myself).
